All over the world, girls and women experience discrimination and violence because of their gender. These are not isolated cases or exceptions; it is a social structure that we at Make Me Smile in Kisumu are trying to change. Together with you, we want to discuss the many faces of gender-specific discrimination and work to bring about change in Kisumu, Vienna, and everywhere else.

Join us in Vienna! 

We will start together at the Währinger Frauenweg, which reflects women and their role in society. At Michalerwiese, we can take a picnic break together before continuing our hike to Jubliäumswarte. During the hike, we look forward to discussing gender inequality, and we are also happy to talk about how Make Me Smile projects holistically create a fair and safe place.

What Your Donation Can Do (Examples):

• €20: Provide access to contraceptives for a year to give people the option to decide over their own bodies.

   

• €30: Host one children’s club for approximately 500 kids, where they play safely while strengthening their behavior, increasing gender equality.

• €60: Support a month of educational theater program for over 100 children and women, where creativity becomes a tool for empowerment. Through exploring gender roles, participants learn to question social structures while building skills in consent, respect, and empathy.

   

• €220: Provide a paralegal for a month to support over 100 victims of sexual and gender-based violence in the reporting of their cases and giving them mental support.
